Rode’s heritage as an innovative microphone manufacturer has continued and the popularity of its award-winning NTG series has culminated in the development of the newly announced NTG-8 Long-Shotgun Microphone model, a welcome addition to the current range of Broadcast Grade Shotgun Microphones from this well established manufacturer.
The Rode NTG-8 is a broadcast-quality, long shotgun microphone that exhibits incredible directionality across the entire frequency range and offers enhanced LF response, directivity and sensitivity. It has been optimised for recording high-quality audio for film, television, sports and outdoor broadcasting or any professional application where distance miking is required.
The NTG-8 embodies many of the features of the Rode NTG-3, including low self-noise, natural sound without colouration both on and off axis, and RF bias technology to ensure that it is almost completely water resistant and suitable for outdoor environments.
Designed and manufactured in Sydney, Australia, the NTG-8 provides a super-cardioid polar pattern and a 40Hz-20kHz frequency response in a 559mm x 19mm body that weighs 345g. JoeCo Limited is now shipping the new BBR64-MADI version of the BLACKBOX RECORDER. Designed for audio acquisition and capturing live performance, the recorder enables multi-channel audio to be captured directly to a USB2 drive, in Broadcast WAV format, without the need for a computer.
Based on the tried and tested BlackBox Recorder design, the BBR64-MADI records / replays up to 64 channels of MADI data while still occupying just one unit of rack space! The recorder can capture the full 64 channels at standard sample rates, with double sample rate MADI recording (up to 96kHz) also accommodated. The unit sports both coaxial and optical MADI connections for interfacing with any MADI equipped console or other equipment. Additionally, it caters for 56-channel legacy MADI and can record a further 8 channels of analogue (balanced line in) for capturing the audience reaction or general ambience.
The BBR64-MADI will lock to or generate word clock, as well as locking to the received MADI data stream. The MADI input can be echoed direct to the output to ease system integration. Individual channels, or pairs of channels can be monitored on a PFL bus providing both hi-resolution metering and headphone monitoring.
Designed for both ease of use and convenience in the live recording environment, the BBR64-MADI also includes a number of BlackBox Recorder "standard" safety features, such as the Safe 'n' Sound Record Recovery that will recover files even if the power fails during recording.

The new BLACKBOX BBR-DANTE RECORDER is designed to record and replay up to 32 channels of audio data from a Dante network. It records at 44.1kHz and 48kHz directly to Broadcast WAV files on an external USB2 drive.
The BBR-DANTE connects to any Dante-enabled network device from a range of console and converter manufacturers including Allen&Heath, Yamaha, MIDAS, DiGiCo and Focusrite to name but a few. Designed to support standard network components and switches, it can also record 8 channels of analogue (balanced line in) alongside 24 channels of Dante for capturing audience and ambience.

Lynx Studio Technology is proud to present the Hilo Reference A/D D/A Converter System. With the pristine, open, transparent audio quality for which Lynx is known, Hilo provides two channels of mastering quality analog to digital conversion, up to eight channels of digital to analog conversion, a secondary monitor output, and a world class independent headphone amplifier in a compact half-rack size. A first for the pro converter market, Hilo’s innovative 480 x 272 touchscreen provides a flexible and intuitive interface that can adapt to a particular application and be easily upgraded with enhancements and new features. Initial front panel controls support extensive signal routing and mixing, sample rate selection, clock source options, levels, metering and diagnostic features.
Hilo is unique, so be careful comparing it to other two channel AD and DA converters. In fact it is a unique product that at first may be a little difficult to get your head around. Basically, Hilo replaces three different, critical components:
1 Hilo is an analog to digital converter
2 It is also a digital to analog converter. With most companies, these are two separate units.
3 It is an independent headphone amplifier. The headphone section has
its own, dedicated D/A converter. This provides two key benefits. First
this allows Hilo to offer a headphone output with exceptional clarity
and noise specifications. Second, due to Hilo’s internal 32 channel
mixer, any input set can be routed to the headphone stereo output. This
means that a mix that is entirely different from the analog outputs and
monitors can be applied to the headphones.
• There are three sets of analog outputs: main analog output, monitor output (with volume) and headphone output (with volume)
• The flexible digital I/O section offers the choice of AES/EBU, SPDIF by coax or TOSLINK optical, or ADAT formats
• The innovative design of the analog stage and converter topology allow ultra low noise and distortion specifications
• A 480 x 272 pixel LCD touch screen for operation and monitoring
• A 32 channel internal mixer in the updatable FPGA
• 12 total inputs, 16 total outputs plus 32 channels possible via LSlot.
• AC powered with Battery operation available
• Open ended software for future measurement, metering, diagnostic and personalization features using the touch screen LCD.

The demo room at DTS headquarters in Calabasas, CA USA is used to demonstrate a wide range of DTS technologies, from pre and post processing and multi-channel Blu-ray content, to lower bit-rate streaming for digital delivery.
